Bill, Im no expert but i think you had mostly short positions unwinding on friday. Being earnings warning season, and a lot of downgrades, i would guess most traders went short/hedged earlier, then unwound this for the weekend not wanting to hold these positions. Or maybe everyone thought as you, and bought late friday cause they expected the monday merger rally... so now maybe it goes down monday!? Who knows what will happen next week, definately not a lot of buyers stepped in this week (ok maybe late friday we had some bottom fishers too). But the bottom is marked when everyone is negative and we definately have some negativity right now. So how negative is it??? I feel we still need a real down day, another 500 pt slide, to clean out all the sellers... Sid
