All,

HOW TO FIX THE HARD DRIVE OVERSUPPLY GLUT

I've finally figured it out. For SEG or QNTM, the answer is to buy out Maxtor. Pricing is no big deal, just slap on the .6 or .7 PSR ratio that these liquid companies currently enjoy. Use stock as currency. Now, I've seriously been against consolidation in the past, because market share ends up being not x + y, but more likely x + y - z, where z = y. But this time it's different. SEG/Max or QNTM/Max can easily CRUSH the desktop market, and send WDC into liquidation. The best inoculum for WDC from suffering this fate is to merge with Maxtor. WDC needs bleeding-edge drives. Maxtor needs cash. Problem solved.

This is endgame, folks. Participants ought to play for keeps.
