Kirk: Many thanks for the article link. I found the full press release on the TI page. ti.com Looks very interesting, claiming it doubles to 800Mbps the current 1394 data transfer rate and projecting availability the end of this year. My guess is Adaptec is not far behind. Anybody have information on that? Adaptec has acknowledged the 1394 roadmap has speeds of 800Mbps expected in 1998 with 1Gbps plus in succeeding years. Symbios also a player in 1394. Starowl
