Ha ha... I didn't think you thought Darwin was responsible for the holocaust.

Yes, I was just introduced to PBS web-site: "From Jesus to Christ". The figure of Paul is, indeed, controversial. I have heard him considered to be an ugly, humpbacked tent-maker with gnarled hands who, because of his physical appearance, was not allowed in the Sanhedrin (even though he was very intelligent) and didn't get a whole lot of dates (ha ha.... women, that is... not the fruit.) Some consider the misogynist overtones of his writings to reflect this latter point.

There are also conflicting views that present Paul (or rather Saul at that point) as a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin.

I haven't had the time to explore the PBS web-site. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
