Scumbria - Re: "The switch to socket 7 had a clear technical purpose -"

Well, duhhhh!

What do you think Slot 1 is for?

It is a split transaction processor bus AND it separates the L2 cache bus from the system bus (DIB)!

Those are TWO CLEAR TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES.

You can do a little R & D to figure out the significance of these two technical advantages. The work, and clarification it brings you, will be good for your soul - and future investment decisions.

Perhaps that isn't apparent to you, but then again, you are welded into your Cyrix investment and need to constantly blame somebody other than Cyrix for Cyrix's miserable performance.
