A quick (3 question) Y2K survey:

1) Given the fact that the federal, state and local government infrastructure has survived catastrophic events in the past (e.g., the Civil War, the Great Depression, etc.), is it reasonable to assume that said infrastructures will survive Y2K?

2) Given the fact that electricity, gas, water, etc. was delivered without computer assistance (in most locales) until the 1970's and 1980's, is it reasonable to assume that even non-compliant utilities will be able to fashion acceptable workarounds by Y2K?

3) Given the fact that capitalism is so effective in weeding out the wheat from the chaff in the marketplace, is it reasonable to assume that most good businesses will be dealing with Y2K as simply a business opportunity (a chance to leapfrog a competitor)?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated...
