Blowing off CL was appropriate relative to the tone and tenor of his post to me. His was not a request for information, but a poor and unsuccessful attempt to be spiteful.

As for Why now?, I may not be the most appropriate person to answer that question. I have never claimed to be the most technically knowledgable person walking the planet, or even waking my neighborhood:-)

From what I can gather, the ability to SFA(which is not supposed, but documented) is a culmination of years of trial and error, and new information supplied on the minerology by MDM of South Africa.

MDM is where naxos hired John Norton and Jeremy Ison from. both have supplied informnation and experience, not to mention having moved themselves and families from South Africa in order to continue working on Franklin Lake.

Supposedly they have been able to consistently Lead Fire Assay ore from FL with little pretreatment. Remember, Paul Blumberg was able to get sporadic results from SFA, all along, so it is not entirely a new occurence. the adition of Norton and Ison and the knowledge derived from MDM has obvioulsy put them over the top in this one regard.

As to the specifics of how it is achieved, I have not asked. Even if I knew (which I dont) I am not sure how much I would or should be able to say. Of course that would be a whole other discusion that is only tangibly relevant to this one.
