A good solution. Since Noah's ark, Norton and screen savers have messed with programs. We overload our computers with all sorts of things fighting for resources.

Hi Brooke,

One thing you could do to get around this is to take QPV out of the Start menu and move it to your desktop.

I may resort to this, but more likely, I'll just disable my screen saver ... I'm lazy. BTW, I have indeed been able to confirm that having both QPV and an active screen saver cause my system to hang. In any event, thanks for the tip.

Brooke, you said "QPV won't load at startup, but it'll still work when you need it."

When updating qp2 each night, do I need to make sure that I first open QPV so that virtual files get updated? How about when I scan, with output to a virtual subfile--do I need to first open QPV?
