Ok- here is a post on the speed discussion from last fall:

the discussion was around this post for quite a few postings.

basically speed was doubled with diskbuff on a separate physical drive.
I just bought a HD for an office machine for about $140 3.2 gig.

I don't know why your charts aren't bright. Mine are fine -- sharp, clear and bright. Doesn't your computer use Pepsodent? But seriously folks, back in the old days, when QP was still a 16-bit program and Bill Gates didn't wear a tie, the charts seemed a little dull, but not now.

You might want to ask Gary about this. Maybe it has something to do with the graphics on your computer. Maybe Sean has some ideas.
