I can't think of anyone who wouldn't find the following interesting (again, posted on ESVS/Yahoo): From the Red Herring dated 5/7 & 6/12/98 ZuluIsland (30+/Manhattan) Jun 13 1998 4:51PM EDT Besides following the Internet IPO market, I like most of ZULU/ESVS's shareholders are fascinated by the route they are taking to be a major player. For instance, GEOCITIES (a popular Web-page hoster) has filed for an IPO & expects to be going public sometime before the end of this year -- prob w/in the next 3 months. There are some very Interesting things about GEOCITIES -- you can easily compare to what's going on @ ZULU/ESVS like the following: 1. SOFTBANK HOLDINGS owns 30% (& will not disclose its plans). I think they are going to be even more quiet then they were w/the ZD IPO. 2. "After spurning an offer to be acquired by Web portal company, Lycos, GeoCities agreed in January to trade content and services with Yahoo, which invested $5 million...It has also made partnerships with CDNow, Amazon.com and others to make its mark in e-commerce." (This has a familar ring to it -- DCLK rumors). 2. "...is 3.5 percent owned by CMG Info Services, a holding company that owns parts of several online businesses, marketing enterprises, and a venture capital outfit, CMF @ Ventures, whichs holds the GeoCities stake." (Hmmmm this senario sounds familiar). 3. "GeoCities has hired some media bigwigs that will help give it credibility on Wall Street..." (Hmmmmm, hiring industry experts, sounds familiar). For example: Tom Evans/formerly publisher of US News & World Report has now replaced David Bohnett who remains chairman, AND Stephen Hansen/formerly a finance chief @ Universal Studios now to be CFO. 4. Additional GeoCities' investors include: Intel, Chase Capital Partners, InnoCal, & Flatiron Partners. (I think we are going to see more of this w/ZULU/ESVS & the recent PR story about Panasonic is just the beginning). The bottom line is when you put everything together on ZULU/ESVS, it sounds like a blue-chip company that just now happens to be in a penny-marketplace doing some pretty far-reaching positioning. Things are becoming very interesting -- keep the larger picture in place & those finanicals we were all pinning our hopes on just don't seem important B/C the #'s MUST BE THERE for this company to be doing what they are doing in hiring their industry experts to further cast that all desired blue-chip light on our jewel in the making. PS--I am already looking @ beachfront property...I can't help it, I'm a visionary, dreamer, realist, & one who knows an amazing company story when I hear it!!! ÿ
