Nice action based on yesterday's announcement, but don't count this merger out yet.

The merger activity had gone pretty far in terms of co-mingling management teams, sales and product strategies, etc., before yesterday's announcement that Unitrode's bod had withdrawn support. The two companies businesses are pretty complementary, and there might actually be some significant accretive effects.

Could this just be Unitrode negotiating a better price??? If so, it's a pretty effective ploy, as Benchmarq will be damaged goods if the deal falls through.

My guess is that the merger will be re-spun in the next few days.
