Wrong my friend, the TSE 300 Index as far as i know is simply a
mechanical function of market capitalization. And all ventures can go
belly up, not just mining. If the TSE were to officially frown on the
commodity plays which are such an important part of Canada's economy
just what kind of statement would that make?

Of course I agree with you that it is absurd and that mutual funds and especially index funds are forced to hold such issues. Lytton Minerals was another. LTL. Now trades for 40 cents or something. Was never worth a plugged nickel.
