Zeev,

The key is Intel is not twice as old as MU.

Granted, the people who ran Intel were in the semiconductor design business (at Beckman/Shockley Labs) when the technical people at MU were in diapers. Potato[e] farming does not count :-).

MU survived the mid-80s DRAM fiasco; Intel changed their business (with the help of an IBM cash infusion, if I recall). If Ted Hoff hadn't built the 4004 when he was asked to design a calculator, Intel may well not be among the living today. The 4004 begat the 8008, which begat the 8080, etc etc. There ain't no Ted Hoffs at MU :-).

The following can be found in intel.com

What year and where was Intel Corporation incorporated?

Intel was incorporated 3/1/89 in Delaware. Below is a history from Intel California to the current Intel Delaware:

07/18/68 Incorporated: California, as NM Electronics Inc.
8/6/68 Name changed to Intel Corporation, a California Corporation.
3/1/89 Incorporation of Intel Corporation, a Delaware Corporation.
5/5/89 Intel CA merged with and into Intel DE. Intel DE is the surviving corporation.
