Interesting article on inventories and seasonality of wireless phones:
techweb.com

It mentions that in March Ericsson and Nokia were planning on reducing inventories by 50% over a 4 week period. This is a confirmation of what VLSI has been saying, and it explains how Nokia and Ericsson have continued to do well even while VLSI has been hammered. It also says that 'the majority of handset sales occur between July and Jan', so again another confirmation of VLSI's predicts. Finally, for those worried that the recession in Asia is going to really dampen handset growth, they site the contradicting fact that GSM grew explosively during the European recession.
