Once software is designed, its manufacturing costs are negligible compared to hardware.

Does MSFT enjoy nice profit margins vs say IOM?

In the long run, I'd rather have "the" hot software product than "the" hot hardware product any day. As the technology changes, you can fix the software & recompile on the new technology without disrupting a quarter, if you're good. Adaptec can't charge a whole lot, but this could be one of those products on every PC, through a couple upgrades, if they market properly.

Especially recently, a lot of the action in Adaptec takes place after hours. Does anybody know a free net site that reports on after hours trades?
