Alpha email rules spotty humor

Alpha testing: if NASA had proceeded with putting a man on the moon in the manner Datek moves with checking, NASA would still be doing studies on building a computer model to simulate putting a toy monkey in low earth orbit. Perhaps Datek wouldn't have lost 3 astronauts on the launch pad, however. Hmmm. Is the space shuttle STILL using 5 8086s networked as the onboard computer? Is Datek planning to use paper checks or some new exotic technology?

Thanks Datek for reviving the 2nd gerbil powering the email confirmations. For anybody using Outlook Express to process email, try setting up a Datek folder and an inbox rule to move anything from Datek into the Datek folder. Now if I could write something in Java or Visual Basic to process the email and fill out my schedule D...

Humors poor relations (as per spots): I've read that puns are the lowest form of humor. On reflection, I doubt that my sarcasm regarding banks qualifies as humor at all. Perhaps it does qualify as being marginally superior to cartoon swearing (*!@#&) at arrogant impersonal institutions who run "good neighbor" ad campaigns while scheming new ways to hit people with fees for the privilege of using their own money. Perhaps more of a black sheep to a pun? <gg>

Dear Datek Online Customers:

The testing for check writing at Datek has not yet been completed. When I posted here on Tuesday, I thought I'd be able to tell you that we were shipping out the checks, but a few small setbacks kept us from doing so. I apologize for not bringing better news.

Since the check writing issue has long been a sore subject, I will not post again until the first set of checks go out.

I appreciate all of the private messages I have received from many of you and I hope to continue that dialogue in an effort to help us improve our services. I enjoy reading the many suggestions from all of you as it allows us to make changes where appropriate and to keep things that do work well.

In closing, I hope all of the fathers out there had a relaxing and enjoyable Fathers Day.

Regards,

Tim Richter
