Thank-you for for your assistance. It's been very informative! Unfortunately, I won't be getting that '98 upgrade until mid-July. I'll have to wait until then. And thanks for the info about STB.

Multimonitors - simultaneously updated Short answer to a long question: Everything on every monitor you see updated simultaneously. You get a trading edge over those who just use one monitor and who are forced to dicker with icons/taskbars and being blinded to the excitement at one of those sites. If you are a serious trader, one monitor is not sufficient. Either several computers or a multimonitor solution, Win '98 being the bang for the buck if you have enough PCI slots. The next option would be Colorgraphics Evolution 4 ($695) The cheapest multimonitor card available that drives 4 monitors and is respected among the investment crowd. It has 16 mb SGRAM. STB offers one at the same price but uses only EDO ram. If you do other things like CAD you might want to look into STB or Appian high end cards. They are overkill for trading purposes. If you can wait, Matrox will have one out based on their G-100 chip this Fall. The single card currently goes for around $70. I'm hoping the multimonitor cards will be priced to sell volumes! Everyone here should be hooked on having some type of multimonitor configuration, or planning to have such in their Dream Machine. The advantages are compelling. I'm still trying to evaluate card options. Matrox Mystique 200 or Matrox Productiva G-100. Any thoughts? matrox.com I'm leaning towards the Productiva because it is specific for Win 98 advances. However, a generic card could be had for half the price but you get what you pay for. Are you familiar with any generic/low end cards that are a good bang for the buck and Win 98 compatible? S.W.
