My very firm belief is that the amount of Y2K remediation work will tail off very swiftly after the 1st quarter of 2000. Anything still broken after 6 months probably won't ever get fixed, IMO.

But Y2K is the IT consulting cash cow project of the century, there's nothing even close down the road to replace it.
