MCI isn't giving away the properties, they're selling them, WCOM will get that money when the merger is complete.

I have very great confidence and trust in the Bernie Ebbers management in handling this complicated merger. I believe he knows what he is doing and he will take good care of the investors.

I would presume the MCI internet properties under sale are in demand and coveted by some strong players in the market place. They should fetch top dollars. The business transaction should be fair to both seller and the buyer otherwise it would not happen. . MCI/WCOM would rework out the financials of the combined co and justify the business combination as viable. There is no doubt this is a trade off between the deal going thru. or not.
