IMMI, the smart money from the Boston area likes Cabletron on a valuation basis. The stock price already reflects the Reed transition. 3 coms at 1.5x sales IS WAY TOO CHEAP. Buy more brother !! Shiva trades at less than 2x sales, please advise me on that if you have a fundamental idea about them. Halloweenie without a beenie ???

Immi,

Interesting you should mention this - I am a sane engineer (at least I believe so) and I turned Cabletron down during the interview. In fact, their engineers spent more time quizzing me on my company benefits to find out how bad theirs were! I wound up doing some recruiting for my own employer. The bottom line is, with Cabletron loosing technical talent they will loose technology, and no money games are going to keep a networking company alive without technology.
