Intel will be coming out with a 4 processor motherboard in the third quarter of this year. See Kenneth's Tech Page, The Intel Road Map at
home1.swipnet.se for some pre-announcement information. This may be another option for you.

Most likely you know this but at the present time, 6-17-98, the only Intel CPU that can be used in a 4 processor design is a Pentium Pro. Slot 1 Pentium IIs have a design limitation and can only be used in a single or dual processor configuration. Intel is planning on coming out with a Slot 2 package that will support more than a 2 processor configuration in the 3 quarter of this year. I believe the initial product will have the code name Xeon and will be announced on June 29, 1998. This puts you in a tough spot either use a CPU that is being phased out, the Pentium Pro, or use a new product, a Intel Pentium II in a Slot 2 package, which will be very costly.
