jacob,

the world may be entering a depression within 6 months. It is not wise to buy until you can see the whites of their eyes. Wait until japan has had a positive quarter. This b to bill is an aberration, I can't imagine that we will see a significant turn before the end of the year. Amat is selling at 4x book, when it usually gets to 2x in a downturn. Sell.

Kurlak isn't expecting a turn until the fall. He is just bottom fishing now. He doesn't follow equips.

Jacob,

Consolidation, belt-tightening (Novellus just announced a 10% layoff) and downgrade announcements the last couple of days. Looks like we may be approaching a bottom. However, it's hard to see anything to juice demand on the horizon (and it may continue to decline) and there is still major overcapacity out there.
