Funny what a few campaign dollars can get done.

BTW, this is quite a euphoric rally - opposite bonds again and we never got a selling climax. A buying panic. Why? Because the Treasury and Fed panicked to try to bail out Asia? We should run right out and buy multinational cyclicals (as well as more 'net stocks)? Come on, if the Fed is panicked, why would anyone think that Asia suddenly no longer matters?

Does currency intervention ever really accomplish anything beyond a short-term move?

PS: Might not Asian investors start bailing on their US positions if our government is going to beat up on them? And if our government's effort do have some positive effect on Asia, might they not want to reinvest back at home?
