Liberals never think they have a conflict of interest. Remember Ted Turner has been a frequent renter of the Lincoln bedroom and only became distressed when other media reported that fact. Dan Rather also interviewed the two Clintons on air and gushed that they were so wonderful. Peter Jennings said the US electorate had a "temper tantrum" when they threw the Dems out in 1994. And how about how today's news on tobacco legislation is being reported - if you're a Rep and against, it's implied that you are a tool of tobacco interests, not because you oppose government and higher taxes. But the media never makes the connection that the largest contributors to Dem politicians are the trial lawyers - who stand to reap TENS OF BILLIONS OF $$$ from the proposed settlement. Considering that no study supports that a $1-2 hike in the cigarette tax will do anything to deter teenage smokers, a far stronger argument can be made that the Dems are merely tools of the trial lawyers and their campaign largess. Some will be raking in the equivalent of $92,000/hr! (Hillary's brother is in line at the trough too). Does anyone doubt that the Dems are in this primarily for the campaign cash? If Clinton will sell out national security for $$$, it's an easy bet that his party would do the same under the guise of "saving the children".
