Hi everyone. I am a frequent lurker but an infrequent poster here. I have been a mid-term INTEL trader for the past few years. My thinking was that they have a quasi monopoly and if I get burned it will come back. This time, however, I threw in the towel at $69 1/4. I know that you guys will flame me, and I do NOT mean to say that the stock will necessarily go lower. But, my thinking might be interesting to you day traders as well as long term holders. It's simple. When AMD and NAT SEMI/CYRIX started low end PENTIUM competition, everyone laughed. Now all the major box makers use their chips at the low end and there seems to be no overwhelming complaint outcry. In other words, I guess their chips work and it does not necessarily require "INTEL INSIDE".

Also, until there is a killer application (like that voice recognition that really works), there is no reason to upgrade annually or even biannually like I and others did. My P166 can handle word processing, balancing the checkbook and schmoozing on the Internet about 99.99999% as well as a P400.

Here's something else to consider. In 1929, radio was the rage and the world knew that TV was not too far behind. The monopoly stock of the time was a little company called RCA. Had you bot it in 1929, you would not have broken even until about 1968. Thats a long 40 years wandering in the desert!

Bailed Out Bernie!
