Hey, I'm going to a bit of rumor-mongering , and with that disclaimer I just read where someone on Yahoo SEEK message boards (as much as I hate to admit I was just reading that mess over there) says on CBS MarketWatch, an article by Tom Cassandra released this afternoon, after the bell, states Time Warner IS in talks with SEEK and bidding somewhere in the $50 range... Any comments on this rumor? Regards, George

Larry, that is great news if its not a typo. I somehow have a feeling they meant to say, 'Inktomi' instead of 'Infoseek' on the Microsoft page. Hope I'm wrong, anyone else? George, I refuse to comment on anything posted on the Yahoo!SEEK thread. Good days for the sector when YHOO hits 52-week highs, though. Happy SEEKing to all longs (yes, past Friday...) c\|:o)

I couldn't get beta.microsoft.com to load, but I did just go to: start.com and sure enough, there was an Infoseek-powered search engine right there. And, when you conduct a search, it takes you straight over to Infoseek, not some other area of Microsoft. Don't now how long this seemingly-exclusive deal is for, but I'm sure it made the Netscape deal MUCH easier to turn down... We're talking muchos eyeballs here. I like.
