limtex: I queried the group last week, did not get a flood of responses. I would offer, due to the lower than normal volume in G* and in the market as a whole, that most of the undecided/momentum players are sitting on the sidelines and waiting. Most of us long termers are in and not buying any more of late. This leaves the small outflow volume from the 'bad' news to drive down the stock in excess of its normal weighting. I dont know the 'bad' news of which I allude to, take your pick: unrelated Russian failures, political intrigue, indigestion of a broker - whatever. On the bright side, when the community does see the light and return, hold on because things are really going to take off. Jeff Vayda

Just answering your question possibly puts me in the group of destructive rumor mongerers, but I'll pass on what I've heard, with the disclaimer that I have no knowledge of the validity of the story and I suspect that it's being passed around by short sellers and bargain hunters. The rumor is that GSTRF service will be delayed until June 1999 due to holdups in handset production. This rumor has gotten back to the company's PR people, who have denied the story in response to the caller. Nothing public has been issued. Asking anyone: would it have been better to keep this unsubstantiated story to myself? Beefeater
