No argument here. Classless clowns....I sincerely didn't realize the brevity of their stupidity. I feel even more stupid for ever investing in their company. Maybe I'm the one who needs a good kick in the ass...

Everyone expects to hear this from me so here it goes......of course this is shit news, sucks, huge shit, tons of it...BUT the street will see this as positive because that is what they have been asking for. They have known about this info. for the last 3 days, I'm sure. Tyler and the rest of the team have not been passing out buttons for the last few days...they have been meeting with wall street. In fact they probably knew a few weeks ago. Yea we may get the hell beat out of us tomorrow and we should...for not saying in qt. 1 that we will lose 100mi. in qt 2 and get the fricking bad news out of the way. BUT i think with the layoffs, and the cpq announcement with other oem's to follow, and click which is still there, we may get a positive reaction out of this.....but it is not good news at all i agree...but that does not change the status of the PRODUCT and its market share. These a--holes just need to figure how to cut costs and quick. They said savings of 50mil. in 2nd half.....thats not to shabby.

Re: News timing

Substantive news is normally announced when the market is closed to ensure a level playing field. IOM is following normal practice here.

Can anyone give a logical reason for IOM's timing of their announcements. Why not make the announcement before PC Expo, get the bad news out, then follow it up with good news? It would leave investors with a more positive feel, rather than a negative one. It would also not "suck" investors in, and them clobber them with the bad news.

I'm looking for a rational explanation. I realize the "cockroach" theory is a possible explanation, but why would a company wish to "screw" its investors? Isn't it in a company's best interest to have their share price as high as possible? Wouldn't there be a better chance for a higher share price if bad news were followed by good news, rather than lowering the boom after the good news?

Might options expiry (tomorrow) have anything to do with it? It seems much more likely that the stock will close closer to 5 tomorrow than 7.5. Would there be any advantage to the company to have the price at or near 5? (I don't have a very good understanding of options) Even if it was, wouldn't that smack of manipulation? I know IOM has been accused of manipulation in the past, but I can't believe they would be dumb enough to attempt to manipulate the price.

Thanks,

Jim Welsh

<<That's the part that bothers me the most.>> Iceberg, don't take the timing of the announcement to personal. The vast majority of companies announce bad news after the market closes.
