Re -- I hope that for the sake of all high tech investors that this suit doesn't stick.

Cisco declared LU a competitor. Lucent INTENDS to WIN.

In a court, the chances are 50-50. If Cisco loses in court, it will at the very least be told not to use it, Which means redesign their routers and ATM/FR switches (ENORMOUSLY EXPENSIVE), and asked to pay ROYALTIES to Lucent.

Furthermore, I'd be surprised if Chambers doesn't start whining, because he does not hesitate to use STRONG ARM BULLYING tactics like he did with INS and Bay.

You're back! How's life on the BAY thread....

As for the patent infringement - I'm not sure there's much to it, but I'm willing to wait to hear. From what I see LU launched a specific effort to compete with Cisco via the courts rather than the market. It's too bad this is what this market has come to. I hope that for the sake of all high tech investors that this suit doesn't stick.

Remember, Apple wouldn't be where it is today if it didn't win that big suit against Microsoft.
