Thanks for responding. No, it's not reassurance I need,it's clarification. I read the original release at the time and for some reason thought it meant that as of that particular date, Bay shares would be worth $38 when the merger took place. Since then, the price of both stocks have gone down and I've read all sorts of stuff here and on yahoo that make me think I've assumed wrong...that it would be more like $32. Question again..if at the actual time of merger stock prices are down lower, what will happen? I'm new to investing and have never been in this situation before. I've found generally, after I sort through all the extraneous stuff, since I trade online and don't have a broker, that these boards are as valuable as any "analyst". I'm really trying to understand the forces and mechanics at work here. Am I the only one confused?
