OK, I'm back from dealing with reality - back to the financial version of "Unreal" ;-) 1.) THANK GOD FOR THE PRESS RELEASE!!!! Screw the wording, it was a wonderful thing to behold. Conclusion: THERE IS _NO_ HIDDEN MONSTER OUT THERE. 2.) OTOH, the MONT analyst must have asked around about OEM deals for Banshee and found none - not a good short term sign. 3.) Where to buy? Hard to say, a look at the chart shows that TDFX was briefly in a 14 - 16 trading range a l-o-n-g time ago - may not be that relevant now. BTW, there's no historic support levels below 14 for this fairly young company. 4.) I've told myself twice now that I'd never buy any more TDFX. If the stock goes below 14, I'll probably break my promise again. However, it will only be after the price stablizes for at least one day! 5.) I took a l-o-n-g hard look at the i740 at several booths at E3. Very unimpressed. The framerate was just barely acceptable for Incoming and Forsaken at 800x600. Image quality was fine, not spectacular. Even some of the Intel people were downplaying it. From a technology perspective, I'm confident it poses no threat... 6.) ...However, E3 also proved to me that in the long term, Intel is _very_ serious about the 3D graphics market. It was a prime focus of their E3 marketting message. I strongly suspect Intel views the i740 as a learning process - the threat to TDFX comes from whatever Intel creates next (I'm guessing a timeframe of mid next year). But by then, TDFX _should_ have raised the ante with Voodoo3(?). 7.) Re: Intel putting graphics on the motherboard. I don't have any special info about that. 8.) Re: PX - If he is short (and I'm not so sure), he's one of the least obnoxious I've seen in quite a while. Compare and contrast to the monkeys on the Yahoo board for some perspective.
