MOSCOW, June 19 (Reuters) - Russia's largest metals
producer, Norilsk Nickel , raised its 1997 output of
nickel by 23 percent in comparison with 1996, the company said
in a statement on Friday.
Nickel production was 177,185 tonnes in 1996.
Copper production was up 10 percent last year, from 340,000
tonnes in 1996.
Cobalt output was up 37.5 percent from 1996, when 3,150
tonnes were produced.
And platinum group metals were up more than 10 percent,
although no absolute figures were given.
The statement said the growth in production was achieved by
using higher quality ore concentrates and by increasing the
percentage of metals extracted from them, as well as by refining
previously stockpiled materials.

I'm not a pessimist and I'm only negative when the BS put out by a company only partially discloses or distorts the facts. Such is the case, I believe, with Donner. There's lots of companies that I like and I even own several most of which I'm down on. My complaint, to me, is much more universal in that I don't believe the we speculators are on alevel playing field with respect to speculating in these penny stocks. I can't understand why more people don't agree with me. These stocks have lost their audience partly due to the inability of us to get accurate timely information that is, in most cases, available to the insiders and I assume they use it in their best intererts, not mine. Let's not get confused about what I'm bitching about. The discovery process is magic and I understand that.
