>>>As for here, let me repeat my appeal for Intel to buy a local phone company and fill it full of Intel and Cisco switches. This is an easy and wonderful thing for Intel to do! They already have the expertise - they would just have their own IT people replicate Intel's own internal communications network - well, at least the best parts of
it.<<<

Sounds like a smart idea to me. But, don't hold your breath waiting for Intel to invest intelligently with their cash hoard. Why not post
a proposal here naming the company and any other details that you feel are pertinent. Why not go after Cisco and get a "cut" of all the switches being sold?

Jeff,

>>>I'm not going to be that presumptuous. Intel can better figure out its own business. If they are interested they can better find the right deal without amateur advice.<<<

I'm not sure why you would write this, I mean the amateur advice thing, but, from the excellent post I read Re:post 58301 you can definitely put a word or two together.

>>>As for here, let me repeat my appeal for Intel to buy a local phone
company and fill it full of Intel and Cisco switches.<<<

You mention that you're repeating your appeal, so it must be on your mind a bit. I for one would be glad to hear more. If you feel uncomfortable about posting online, then please send me your thoughts by private message.

Some diversification into telecom and content would be very beneficial to Intel. Sony is working very hard on content to support
its strong consumer electronics products. Why not Intel???
