Businesses and services
Global Games develops and licenses software for various segments of electronic commerce, especially on the internet. The company's current activities focus on the following:
The company has developed software and licensed it to Internet Gaming Corporation, Dominica, West Indies, for use by that company in its internet gaming business. This software is a proprietary version of multi-player interactive internet bingo which permits player-to-player chat and takes advantage of the latest, completely secure client/server technology.
A formal letter of intent has been signed to provide consulting and management services to develop and manage the gaming operation at Burnt Church First National in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. The Burnt Church operation is located in a new 600+ seat facility which has already been constructed and will be operated under a gaming agreement with the province. Estimated opening date is mid-July this year.
Conversations and negotiations are currently underway for additional Canadian casino management contracts. Also, the Company has been invited to provide internet capability to several U.S. and Canadian Indian tribes.
Background on industry
The potential for internet commerce is growing dramatically. There currently are more than 35,000,000 users worldwide with forecasts expected to be 300,000,000 within the next 3 years (source: Report on Business magazine, January 1997). According to International Data Corporation, the transaction value of goods and services purchased through the internet was $100 million in 1995. By the year 2000, it is forecast to be a staggering $85 billion.
Global plans to position itself in businesses with aggressive managements available to take advantage of these global opportunities. Global's strategy is to invest in other businesses which use the internet and which use proven technologies providing exceptional growth and profit-making opportunities. Global has the technology to offer online credit card processing direct account-to-account and, therefore, will not have to go through a third party for credit card processing, which improves security and increases its profit margin.
Finances
Although Global Games has experienced significant losses in the past, it is now positioned to be profitable very soon. The company is concluding its financial audit. Once complete, the Company intends to file a Form 10 with the SEC to become a fully reporting company.
The Mission
The mission of Global Games Corporation is to provide software that will allow license holders the ability to create a world-class electronic entertainment and gaming facility, available on the Internet.
Global Games is currently delivering a wide variety of wagering games, similar to those of prominent casinos in addition to nontraditional wagering games and nonwagering games. Each game is designed to be highly graphical, incorporating superior quality graphics with movies/animation and rich 'lifelike' stereo sounds, depicting the players environment. The Market...The World
Worldwide, hundreds of billions of dollars are wagered annually. The United States alone is estimated to be responsible for over $400 billion in annual wagers, and growing. The Delivery Vehicle...The Internet
The Internet, a global communications network, is literally exploding with new users every day. Currently, there are over 55 million regular Internet users, with a growth rate of 10% per month! With this in mind, it is predicted that regular Internet users will exceed 200 million by the year 2000. It is predicted that the dramatic growth and use of the Internet will exceed the profound impact created by television several decades ago. As with any new media, especially one with the magnitude of the Internet, enormous potential exists for well planned and well delivered business strategies. Technology & Resources
Currently, the majority of Internet access is by personal computer. However, Global Games is keenly aware that as technology progresses, the delivery vehicles for online access will change. Television, satellite and ISDN connections are good examples of current technologies available now or in the near future. Regardless of the path that online technology takes, Global Games will make certain that it is well positioned to take full advantage of all future technology opportunities. Recent 'Net TV' projects by world industry leaders such as Phillips Electronics, will bring the power of the Internet to more and more households.
Unlike most other companies (including competitive gaming companies) rushing to claim their stake in cyberspace, Global Games plans a unique approach in the method of which its gaming products are delivered. Today, the vast majority of companies are producing Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) code, which is the computer language used to develop and produce World Wide Web (WWW) sites and pages. While this is an excellent format for the delivery of information (browsing through catalogs or downloading files) it is not appropriate for use in highly graphical, fast action games. The obstacle is that in the environment of the World Wide Web, each time a change occurs on the screen an entire page and much of its content/images must be retransmitted. As a result, the host computer server system, regardless of its size and capacity, can bog down, causing unacceptable long pauses in what must be fast action games.
Global Games has overcome this obstacle by using compiled Java software. Java is supported with both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator internet browsers. The user requires nothing more than their standard browser software. By handling the game in this fashion, users can play immediately. In fact, by utilizing this method of delivery, the gaming experience can be greatly enhanced when compared to any existing conventional communications method. Nonwagering Games
Global Games will also offer a multitude of games for those who are too young to participate in casino style games or for those who prefer not to wager. This recognizes the success of Las Vegas based casino 'Circus Circus' in generating income from nongambling entertainment. Games such as chess, bridge, role playing games plus existing popular computer games such as DOOM, Duke Nukem, Heretic, Command & Conquer.
