Fuchi,

The problems you are seeing with Netscape bookmarks are more likely due to something else wrong in the system than with the CPU. I wouldn't want to speculate on what that cause is.

Unfortunately you can't swap the idiotic slot 1 part with a socket 7 part to make an apples for apples comparison.

Fuci, with Navigator 4.03 and my PII at 4 x 75MHz, bookmarks pop up instantly. Perhaps the video card in your PII won't run at a 37.5MHz. What mobo are you using?

You will want the MS applet "Tweak UI" to allow you to set the popup delay to your liking. You will want to set it to SLOWEST for your PII and to FASTEST for your K6.

For your Word97 test be sure to time the PII load right after reboot. For your K6 you will want to load it once, close, then time the second load.

These tips make you happy.
