Hi Jack,
I saw The End of Violence yesterday and I can recommend it. It is beautifully filmed, and the writing is superb. There is poetry - real poetry- in it (that is what I loved about Wings of Desire- another Wim Wenders movie- the poetry of the narration). It isn't for everyone, and I think some people might find it merely confusing and pretentious, but it is a thought provoking movie and I think it is worth seeing- elitist snob that I am.

I also saw Cyclo. This is a terrific movie about a pedicab driver and his family. I never saw it reviewed but it is wonderful. Some very raw violence, but not at all gratuitous.

Kicking and Screaming- College guys who don't want to grow up (or maybe they don't know how to grow up). Not great but entertaining.

Living in Oblivion- Buscemi stars in this. Very good movie. A film within a film movie. I always like those, but this is better than most.

Irma Vep another film within a film movie. Very weird. If you watched Living in Oblivion and Irma Vep together you would come to the conclusion that directors are not the most stable individuals.
