i didn't get a hat, but recently, a member of the thestreetdotcom's staff sent me a free T-shirt. It is too big for me, so i gave it to my sister. She sleeps in it. Written on the back:
          insightful, irreverent
and opinionated as hell.

TGB:
You know, when we first decided to do hats, I was determined to avoid the high hat syndrome you so correctly pointed out. Much to my surprise, you had to pay several dollars more for a hat that did not create the dork look. My business guys assured me that it was not worth the additional sums. Nonsense, I said, be darned if you would catch me in a hat like Slate's, which has that seem ill-fitting front, or Cramer &Co., a hat I had made for a charity event for St. Judes that NOBODY would wear because it gapped up front. That's why, when I take you up on two cheese with at Genos you can bet we will be looking stylish. Send the guys with the geek hats cross the street to Pat;s, which hasn't been any good since Liston beat Patterson.
p.s. Do not confuse this with the Jim Cramer- will- lose- his- shirt- come- the- bear- thread which my enemies are cooking up as we speak.

Tom: re the tsc hat...with all due respect guy, i think the tsc hat looks too much like a beanie with a bill on it(yeah i won one too in the heisman contest)...admittedly i'm not a trendsetter when it comes to fashion, but the hat definitely needs a bit more of that "high hat" look...i know i get some strange looks when i wear it...which is probably why you never see jjc wear one!!

just my 2 cents worth

Cheers,
Wade

ps -- i think it's JAY, not jesse, berwanger who won the first heisman...how'd somebody from a football powerhouse like the univ. of chicago win it anyway? must have been the same chumps who did the voting this past year!!

<<And the best thing is, the hat doesn't suffer from what we serious students of baseball cap design call "high hat" - which as everyone knows is the problem which occurs when there is an excess degree of airspace between the wearers hairline and the cap itself, a dead-giveaway for a poorly designed hat causing all wearers to appear, in the technical parlance, "dorky">>

I have always referred to this syndrome as Burger Chef hat--but high hat is not bad.

ROFL.
