Terrence, that is precisely the issue with which many religions (except polytheistic ones) are incapable of dealing. How is it possible to have a perfect god create imperfect objects (human beings) and then judge them on their imperfections? How is it possible to have a good prime mover (a god) create evil? How is it possible for a perfect, omniscient god to create free will?

Hellenism easily deals with these kinds of problems because we have the interplay of gods with differing motives.

It seems to me that monotheistic religions have an insurmountable problem here.

Do you understand the implications of this? I think you can -- but you don't want to.

It's called a free will but it seems like your brain cannot absorb the concept. God did not create Evil. Evil is an extension of ones own free will that he gave to all. If you wish to screw around with a women behind the altar in a Church thats your choice, if you wish to walk around naked thats your choice, if you wish to curse thats your choice, if you wish to call all religion a bunch of muck thats your choice its called a free will quite frankly God has much wisdom with his creations, they seem to self expose themselves for who they really are, making his Judgement that much less complicated.
