Addi,
The Bible does not go into depth about the spiritual condition of non humans. The book of Job reveals Gods love and pride in them and there is an account of Balaam and his donkey that talked to him and could see the Angel before the man could. Basically if God created them and He is good and righteous He will do with them as He wills and I am content to know it is what is best for them. God is love and He loves all He has created including the Earth itself.
Peace and Grace to you,
Nancy

Addi, you asked the $64,000 question, in several parts.
Standard dogma is: You are equipped with an immortal soul which goes to heaven or hell, bliss or blister, it flies or it fries.

I'll stick to the Bible. It teaches that we live until we die, have no immortal soul, but may be resurrected into the kingdom of God; composed of new heavens and new earth. [meaning not a new universe but a perfect holy state of righteousness without satanic power or human wickedness.] Apparently this is near. Isaiah 65:17, 66:22 2 Peter 3:13 Revelation 21:1-5

The soul dies, isn't immortal
Animals are souls, Men and beasts die alike
The dead are non-existent, can't be tortured
No one fries
The hope for the dead is resurrection
There will be a resurrection of both righteous and unrighteous.
Unrighteous will have opportunity to repent and gain salvation
God's kingdom will restore paradise to earth
The unalterably wicked will sleep forever
Hell is the grave: [Hebrew: sheol Greek: hades]
Annihilation is symbolized by 2 terms: Lake of Fire & Gehenna
Thru Jehovah's love most of mankind will be saved
His gift of life is thru his Son, Jesus Christ our Saviour

Unfortunately the religions of christendom have mistranslated key words so to hide the truth of scripture and bring confusion. Example: Nephesh is translated 33 ways in the King James Version and 154 in the New International Version. This forces us to use standard reference works, concordances and lexicons.

"ANIMAL SOUL" is the definition given in Strong's Concordance for both the old testament Hebrew word Nephesh and the new testament Greek word Psuche. Nephesh simply means a "breather" and the first 4 times it appears it refers to animals. Genesis 1:20, 21, 24, 30. We read in Revelation 16:3: "Every living soul died, even the things that were in the sea." so fish are souls. So are oxen, asses and sheep: "Levy a tribute unto Jehovah of the men of war that went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the oxen and of the asses and of the flocks" Numbers 31

Not one time in the 740+ appearances of Nephesh (animal soul) does the Bible say it's immortal, indestructible, everlasting or eternal. About 100 times it says the soul dies. "And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed." Joshua 11:11.

"That which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea they have all one breath,; and man hath no preminence above the beasts." "For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything." "There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in Sheol, wither thou goest."
Ecclesiastes 3:19 9:5&10 Quotes from American Standard Version 1901

Addi, lets go to hell, but bring a coat because it's cool. The bible hell is just the grave. I worked in a cemetery and graves are 4 feet deep, 50 degrees. So I went to Hell on a daily basis.

The Hebrew word Sheol, 65 times in the old testament, isn't translated in newer versions; they just call it Sheol. The King James used 3 English words for Sheol: manufacturing the doctrine of eternal torment and scaring hell and money out of their parishioners.

HELL 31 times
GRAVE 31 times
PIT 3 times

"The wicked shall be turned into Hell" (Sheol) Psalm 9:17
"Out of the belly of Hell cried I" (Sheol) Jonah 2:2
"Hide me in the Grave" (Sheol) Job 14:13
"I will go down into the Grave to my son" (Sheol) Genesis 37:35

HELL IS THE GRAVE. The Old Testament, Hebrew Scriptures, are 75% of the Bible. Never do they speak of eternal torment. In the New Testament the KJV boys made it worse. They translated three Greek terms as Hell:

Hades 10 times (exact equivalent of Sheol = the grave)
Gehenna 11 times (Valley of Hinnom, city dump for Jerusalem)
Tartarus 1 time (condition of restraint for fallen angels)

They teach that the Lake of Fire is Hell. This term occurs 5 times in Revelation and is explained as "The second death" Six things are thrown into it: Devil, Death, Hell, Wild Beast, False Prophet, Wicked humans. Since you can't torture Death or Hell it can't be a place of torment. It represents annihilation.

Other scriptures describe the fate of the wicked:
"They shall sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake." Jeremiah 51:39, 57
"They shall be as tho they had not been" Obadiah 16
"The wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23

About 2 years ago the Church of England completely renounced their doctrine of Hell. About time!

Addi,

Don't let anyone pull the wool over your eyes and tell you there is no such thing as a literal hell. Only a fool could suggest such a thing. Jesus spoke more about hell than He did heaven. He also said that unless one was born again they shall not make it into heaven.

As to animals, nowhere in the scriptures does it say that God breathed life into them as he did Adam. Therefore they are not made immortal, once they die that's the end.

Man, is accountable to God for his actions and there will be a day a reckoning. God promises it. Man is immortal but there are only two destinations , hell of heaven.

Chris

Hi Addi,
Thanks for your post. Man is made in the image and likeness of God which means we are an "eternal" spirit just as God is. We live in a physical (temporary) body. Animals on the other hand, not being made in the image and likeness of God have no eternal spirit. When they die there is no spirit to reside anywhere, that's it. When we die we are released from the body and go to our eternal resting place according to the choice we made while still alive in the body. Either with God because we accepted the salvation God has provided us through His Son Jesus Christ or to be apart from God with all the others who chose to be apart from God. Hope this helps.

Bob

Hello Addi,

I hope you don't mind but while checking out some other things I came across your post concerning animals and your question to "religous guys" from back on June 21st.

I realize you were being serious as were the responses so here is a specific scriptual reference that indicates as far as our physical beings we all become dust and are no better than beasts in that regard, but there is a distinction in what transpires with the spirit.

Ecclesiastes 3
vs 19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no pereeminence above a beast; for all is vanity.
vs 20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
vs 21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

Following this however there is more to occur...

Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

There is much in the bible to tell us of what God has planned for us.

Checking out your profile info you made mention of wealth a few times. May I invite you to check out the thread "Getting Rich With the Bible"

One of the unique things in Christianity and unlike other religions God actually comes seeking you.

May God richly bless you Addi,
