Men and beasts have the same breath, Chris.

"They all have one breath; and man hath no preeminence above the beasts" Ecclesiastes 3:19.

"And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
Genesis 2:7.

Here's the recipe for a soul Body + Breath = Soul
Subtract the Breath and the Soul ceases to be.

You say 2:7 means man is immortal. That's what you say, Chris, not God's word, it's not even hinted at, just your belief. Don't add to the word of the Lord. Immortal/immortality is found but 6 times in the Bible, and we don't have it! [The elect will receive it]

Subtract the Breath: "Thou takest away their breath and they die, and return to their dust." Psalm 104:29

"The dead know not anything" Ecc 9:5

Chris, do you know the difference between Gehenna and Hades?
I can see you love the idea of everlasting agony, a debased doctrine borrowed from paganism that has turned off much of the modern world.
You've called me a fool, but I'm the one that's quoting scripture, you just make vague references and blatant assertions.

Don

Chris,

"Man is immortal but there are only two destinations, hell [of] heaven."

What if you don't like either alternative?
