Sorry, deleted my message after answering my own question, upon further reflection.

All -

There have been many comments about using the virtual interface, and using QP to maintain a database of MS compatible files. I'd like to clarify our position.

The best way to use Quotes Plus with or without the virtual interface, is to use the scan program as a filter to select issues with trading potential that can then be scanned in your other software - Advanced Get - Technifilter etc.

Trying to maintain a 10,000 stock database with Quotes Plus is going to be difficult. The Metastock format itself does not readily lend itself to this use.

The virtual interface is a way to quickly create MS Compatible files on the fly. Scanning these files will be slower than real files because the MS conversion happens on the fly.

The only way to get around these issues is to have applications read the QP database directly. This decision is up to each individual software vendor, and is usually the result of customer feedback.
