Bruno,

Feel free to E-Mail back

- If the stranded gas is flared or vented currently then you have the entire world's diesel load plus the flared gas adding more carbon to the atmosphere. Alaska's gas is reinjected into the reseroir for pressure maintenance not flared. Nigeria is flared. If the gas is converted to diesel instead then the diesel reserves in the world will be increased allowing the world to drive trucks longer. In the end, the same amount of carbon is emitted to the atmosphere because the extra diesel is burned.

- If it is not flared - just diesel load. When we run out of diesel from crude then stranded gas could be converted to diesel and burnt and sent into atmosphere then. In this case there is an increase in greenhouse gases at the end (gives us more years to drive).

- Unburned hydrocarbons in exhaust is primarily caused by the engine design. Doesn't matter though, carbon in hydrocarbon still goes to atmosphere. A 1969 GTO 400 Ram Air burning the same fuel will emit more unburned hydrocarbons to the air than a 1998 Mercedes. Cleaner fuels may help to get more complete combustion and better fuel economy but as long as the gas is eventually burned by someone else in their car the carbon makes it to the atmosphere.

- Synthetic fuels are free from sulfur and metals minimizing SO2 and PM10 emissions. This is a positive thing and will help the environment. Greenhouse gases still there though.

The only way to reduce greenhouse gases is not to use hydrocarbons for fuel. Hydrogen burns without making greenhouse gases but it takes energy to make H2 and greenhouse gases are emitted during that process.

Now, do I sound like an environmentalist - NOT. I work for an energy company that makes LPG's and natural gas. we want to make as much as we can and as much money as we can and want people to use more fuel. I would also like to build a GTL plant someday to convert a low value hydrocarbon into a high value hydrocarbon to make more money.

Too long on the soap box - I hope ATNY's GTL process works well and prospers.

Still interested....

But would like to know what the financing is you heard about and what the expected use of these proceeds is.
