Clarence, by my own comaparison. I am not expert on designing monitors but I know what I like and I prefer aperture grill to invar shadow mask. There is no reason to even care unless you don't like the lines in which case you buy a shadow mask. Buy a monitor on its merits not the technology used in the monitor. Also, never buy a monitor you haven't seen, which basically eliminates mail order. Great monitors can look poor also. Try to view multiple samples. I often have to go through 2 or 3 to find one that I like... Sean
