*AV*--If the sector does not turn around soon we may see casualties of war instead of acquisitions and mergers. YILD may not have the resources to remain viable.

BTW-Long time ago we spoke of Uniphase whose Unipoint laser division was a jewel that TNCR (now part of KLAC) was very much interested in.
The stock had been creeping up since last week in $1-$3 increments and then a new shareholder rights plan was announced and the stock went up an additional $7 today. I own a few shares but not enough to change my lifestyle<GGG> but still we have not heard word on anything that could cause this stock to be up over $10 in the last week.

There is some hokey pokey in the air here and I am waiting to bail and then look at PUTS(if there are any) for the post news retracement.

Andrew

nigel-

Updates on some stocks:

CELN- financing concerns continue to plague this promising company. Until these issues are resolved, CELN is a definite HOLD. Very promising company, but I can't recommend additional exposure here.

TAVI- the buyout rumor my be just that... might be a turn around play from here, but it appears no buyer in the near term.

IRSN- I'm looking for news from them next week...

ALYD- Y2K stocks are coming back in vogue... 28% institutional ownership now.... only a matter of time.

MSPG- a winner <ggg>
