Hi All,

I have been a lurker for some years now, and was wondering if there are any comments on IDTI's recent withdraw to the $7 range.

Is there something wrong with this stock that I have missed, or is it suffering from Asian flu and we are likely to see the $10 - $12 range again?

Thanks
Andrew

Andrew et al,

Boi's recent pick - NUKE - has been nuked by the StockDective web site. I bought some, just for fun, when I was flush with cash (relatively speaking) a few weeks ago. This is what happens when you don't do any DD and just throw some money on the pass line on the reco of someone, anyone.

TRBDF is where it's at. 15 by the end of summer and 20 by the end of the year. NB - have to search for Turbodyne to find the thread.

Best to all,
Papillon

Andrew, I am mortified about PAIR! It was at 13+ when we talked about it on this thread and traded at 19+ today. Up on buyout rumors, analyst upgrade, and anticipation of share holders meeting tomorrow.

Oh well, hope you took advantage of CMGI.

Enough has been said on this thread about potential of ASYT, but the stock is not performing yet. Is the time mature for management to announce a stock buyback program? Here are my reasons why it is a prudent choice:

1) At the end of 3/31/98, there are $12M cash and $70M short term investment (total $82M) on its balance sheet. At $13/share today, the company can afford to spend up to $20M or more to buy more than 1.5M shares. That is more than 10% of outstanding shares.

2) Even the current June Q may be slower than the last record Q, nobody anticipate loss for this Q and the Qs ahead. Cash flow is very healthy so there is no worry to preserve working capital.

3) New fabs for 300mm are pushed out further so I do not expect that the company will need large amount of working capital to develop new products now. Current business with existing 200mm fabs are established and expanding.

4) On Sept. 30, 1997, the company completed a private placement of 1M shares of common stock for $42.92/share. The company got $42.9 million from the proceeds. Even the company takes 1/3 of the money, it can buyback the whole 1M shares back. Would it be nice to get $28M for nothing? The company can sell this 1M share again later.

5) The "short term investment" should be some liquid debt investment. At current ASYT stock price, probably it is better investment to buy its own share.

6) If this stock is misunderstood by the Wall Street as AV said, a stock buyback program is a good thing to do to boost investors' confidence.

I have no idea why the company is not doing so. Any comments?

AV-

I thought I'd drop by for a few comments:

IRSN- time to look at this stock again... a real turn around going on there. I've been getting buy signals here again.

CELN- taking a bath on it recently... a stock that is probably going to trade all over the map prior to clinical results later this year (hopefully before October).... a hold right now. I wouldn't add more unless you like roller coasters!

ALYD- I get flamed for posting about this stock but I still am holding out for the Y2K sector turn around. (See mention in CBS Stockwatch Report on ALYD thread).... Gingrich isn't allocating 4 Billion in emergency funding because he wants to.....

MSPG- finally coming back as I had hoped. Will test mid 80's shortly.

TAVI- take over and/or division spin off rumors will come home to roost. Book value of almost 12 dollars makes this stock a real value. Take out between 23-28 seems likely any time on or before July 15.

ORCL- numbers came in but analysts haven't... I like the improving fundamentals... hate the stock action right now... still see 30+ within 30 days though.

TRBDF- DON'T BUY RIGHT NOW. This stock is coming down... storm clouds on the horizon.

Off to bed,

Tech Master
