Dipy:
I am the first one to recognize the superior technology that America has and is capable of. I am proud of it too.
I have a general interest in the subjects that you are talking about. Super computers, PARAM etc. Sophisticated equipments were designed and used before the days of super computers. You can't compare a YUGO with a Benz. But both are capable of doing the same task they are intended for. Both will get the job done. It is a matter of sophistication in the instrumentation, but PARAM may be the bullock cart, while Super
Computer may be Benz. If you can accomplish a task with a bullock cart, what you can with a Benz for the same purpose, it generally speaks of the resourcefulness of the person. Such is the resourcefulness of Indian scientists working under extenuating
conditions. My hats off to the Indian scientists.

By the way, Dr. Kalam is a self-proclaimed indigenous product. No one can pick up rocket science, and design a rocket on a 3 week sabbatical to USA.

Indigenous: read it as INDIAGENOUS

'My is bigger than yours'.

Granted American technology is superior than pretty much anybody else, both India and now U.S are behaving pretty much the same,ie a lot of 'bravado' flying back and forth almost sophomore-like.

First the 'papers' said it was the Russian technology now they say it is the American technology that helped India on the count of couple of low level super computers from DEC and IBM. I believe with the advent of 'parallel computing architecture' the abilities of old super computers are being challenged. I don't see Cary's selling any more super computers,do you??? As far as I know both Crays are now defunct.

The Papers claim that because Kalam spent 3 or 4 moths in the U.S way back when that he went home and copied the missile technology is the most ridiculous claim I have ever heard. I don't believe for a minute that the American Scientists readily showed him all the secret designs of the American missiles, come on how naive one has to be to believe such a nonsense.

Man the Americans are getting as bad as the Indians when it comes to making ridiculous claims, jeeeeeeeeesus.
