Dale, Merced won't be out in volume for 2 years so how could it not be 2 years behind? Well, my concern was if they are two years ahead now, then after two years they could still be two years ahead. Asumming the Alhpha engineers continue advances at the rate of Merced engineers. Besides, do you think Alpha is going to come out and say "When Merced gets here we're as good as dead"? I see this as the natural response from Alpha. They have 2 years to make claims before they have to face real competition so they may as well take advantage of it. <G> Right. They are not going to say we can't compete with Merced. I think it is CPQ propaganda. Dale
