The way I see it is the Y2K sector has been under estimated by the general populus thus as the issue becomes more prevalent via more media attention people will be moving into these type of stocks as a medium term investment (1-2yrs). I believe we will start seeing more nightly news segments on the Y2K issues as 1999 gets closer and the problems start presenting themselves. In my industry (dentistry) we will start seeing the issues on Jan 1, 1999 as we start making 1 year recall appointments and the software may not be compliant. Luckily we should not be affected by the embedded chip problem.
Hope this helps,
Scott
