x y zebra... The 2 were defense. High scoring games.
In the early to mid sixties we started to learn about sweepers
(libero) from watching Beckenbauer.

After 9 years I have now started to play again, the last two weeks.
At 40 there is less stamina left but some of the touches are still there. In the heat and humidity I had to reach for the water bottle
every 20 to 25 minutes. I noticed my passes are ahead of some of the mid thirties players. They became slower too. I'll have to adjust.

12 years of playing on astroturf have left leg problems as well.
This however is common among most ex-soccer players and levels
the field in the over 30 group. Most doctors are quacks and have different opinions as to the cause of ailments. Glad to hear your
situation worked out.

Here is a humorous anecdote from European Cup '96.

I am German and my wife Chinese. Ergo, my sons (4 and 6 in '96)
are 1/2 and 1/2.

I came home to watch the Germany and England match.

"Boys, what team are you for?" ..... "Germany!.... because we are
half German"

"Boys, what team would you be for if Germany and China were playing?"

"Germany!!!"...........

"Why?, boys."

"Because you let us stay up longer, at night, than mommy".

THUS, TRUE SOCCER FANS ARE BORN....<ggg>
