Anat, your analysis of the discount inherent in buying Mcic for conversion into Wcom, and of its disappearing as the closing approaches is correct.

It should jump a bit upon DoJ approval, and then steadily shrink towards closing (arbs time value of money).

As the merger risk disappears, both stocks should be very strong. Little Asian exposure (though some Asian opportunities) and strong internet play.

Also, as merger approval appears locked up, look for Wcom to start blowing its horn. There should be lots of this at the closing, some ramping up into it.

For a number of months they have hardly wanted to tout their internet position, for example, or much of anything else, due to the regulators on both sides of the Atlantic.
